All-in-all a great printer for home use. Frustrating limitation Reviewed in the United States on July 26, 2010 We've had this printer for over a year now and we really do enjoy it. I use it for making copies of contracts all the time. Much cheaper than a real copier (heh). Now for the part that makes me crazy to the point of going insane with frustration. I can't get it to work with a cable longer than the 3 foot cable it came with. I even purchased a 6 foot USB cable from HP directly, the exact cable that was specified in the printer documentation, and it simply will not work. The computer won't recognize the printer is plugged in. This alone is why I have to give this printer 3 stars. Please try again later. erinshel 4.0 out of 5 stars It has worked just fine over the years with a couple of small hiccups. It seems the ink doesnt really last as long as I would like (and can be pricey to replace) along with when I upgraded my OS to Win 7 I had to purchase drivers so it would work. Overall though, it does a great job-- is very user friendly and has lasted a lot longer than most printers I have owned. Please try again later. Please try again later. Two paper trays, one for regular paper and one for photo paper so you don't have to change between the two kinds of paper. Fairly easy to install and set up. Prints directly onto printable standard and mini CDs and DVDs, the main reason I purchased it. Very good scanning feature for both text and images. It does have the capability to import photos as part of the label. This is tedious, but it works. You have to go back to the separate photo editing program and modify it. The area you can use is limited by the large hole in the center of a regular label.https://www.freeunlocks.com/uploads/brandt-dishwashers-manuals.xml

The layout doesn't show this in the outline so you have to play with your photo-editing program to adjust the text to avoid the hole. These settings don't get saved as default, unfortunately, and the program reverts to the large hub the next time you start it. It would have helped a lot if HP had shown the hole in the layout, but you know you are overwriting it because the text gets masked behind it. You will have to print individual pages and tape them together. I have encountered this problem with several other searches for words that should be in the Help. I recommend that you download a.pdf version of the Users Manual from the HP website. It has very detailed instructions and a very good index. The instructions advise burning your disk first. Can scan an image to.bmp,.dcx,.fpx,.gif,.jpg,.pcd,.pcx, and.tif, although I have not used this feature. It has the Bluetooth capability and an included wireless adapter that I have also not used. When you scan to a photo file, it tries to minimize the file size by blocking off the information scanned. For photos, this is not a problem, but if you want to scan to a.pdf page, you must scan to a.jpg first and convert it to.pdf using another program such as Photoshop. As a result, you get varying size pages in your final.pdf document. Lines in a document present another problem. I had to cover up the lines and re-scan. Replaced both ink cartridges. At least I was able to find them on-line for less than the price of a new printer. Please try again later. Please try again later. G. E. Eisenhaur Jr. 1.0 out of 5 stars On one occasion I had to call HP Total Care for assistance in activating the Blue Tooth feature. After spending almost two hours on the phone speaking with a tech somewhere in the east, and being put on hold more than once as the tech sought asssistance from someone else, I had to hang up, as I felt I was going nowhere and the problem still exists.

Now, I am experiencing problems with ink cartridge continually hanging up or jamming. When the carrier jams, it produces a clacking sound loud enough to wake the dead. In order to free the carrier, I must gently push it to free it, and then it will print. I have been in contact with HP Total Care on three occassions, and each time I receive a list of possible solutions. Each time, the suggested remedies did not correct the problem. My latest response from HP is to forward a complete list of name, address, make, model, serial number, etc., and my phone number, and time of day I can be reached. This is not what I expected. I a trying to have HP honor the warranty, and replace the printer. But no response yet. Please try again later. Please try again later. COB 4.0 out of 5 stars I've used HP laserjets for many years, and was determined to stick to a manufacturer with a proven track record. I bought this printer as an all-purpose workhorse. The copier function is a real plus. As a professional designer, I'm not using this printer for finished product or to output final photo images. Multi-function printers rarely excel in any one function, yet so far I've been very pleased. Installation was a breeze - 20 minutes from opening the box to printing a test page. I installed on a MAC which may explain my lack of installation issues versus other PC reviews. That's a first!! As for the review complaining about having to purchase usb cable and bluetooth: 1. the outside lid of the box CLEARLY states you will need to purchase the USB cable, as do most online reviews. I purchased in a brick-and-mortar store and the saelsperson also reminded me I'd need a cable. Most new printers require this same additional purchase. You will of course need a printer with same. Please try again later. Please try again later. Amazon Customer 4.0 out of 5 stars It took longer than my previous Epson printer installations, but I wasn't in a hurry so no problem.

This printer came with the bluetooth adapter, but I just used the old USB cord I had from my last printer to set everything up which provided absolutely no problems at all. It really is not a bad product that works well. Please try again later. Please try again later. Carol R 4.0 out of 5 stars I actually work for another computer company but I like HP. My old cheapo HP inkjet printer broke down after 2 years and I really had to replace it since I work at home. I did NOT want a fax, but I was excited about being able to make copies and scan at home. I am not a big digital camera picture person - yet, anyway. We shall see! I purchased this printer to print documents, presentations, and also for the copy and scan abilities. I had done some research online but it is pretty confusing and I did ask the salesperson. This printer works well. I had to set it up on a network with my home PC which is also an HP:-) and my work laptop (another mfr!). I am fairly computer savvy since I set up the wireless router here myself. Since I previously had an HP printer, I just used my old USB connector - save a couple bucks there. I used the Network SEtup wizard in the Control Panel to add the printer as a device to my 2 systems. Now I will be honest and tell you it took me 2 hours and some swearing to complete setting up the printer - I probably shouldn't have started at the end of the day though. I was impatient to get set up since I had been without a printer for about a week. The printer works well, a little grinding and hesitation when you first turn it on and start - what was that noise? (kind of reminds me of myself in the morning) - but it prints dependably. I just tried the scan function - it is super easy, with a nice user-friendly GUI. I don't use the little pop-up screen thing on the machine - it is kind of small and hard to read for my eyesight. However, you can just hit a button on the front of the machine if you like. That would be easier I guess.

Anyway, the scan to text OCR is cool - I liked that feature. So far, so good - I recommend this model as a fairly economical, dependable and dare I say fun. Please try again later. Please try again later. Matt K 4.0 out of 5 stars However, after 9 months, I started getting a Paper Jam error everytime I tried to print. I am giving you the steps to reset the firmware in the printer. The Resets menu displays on the control panel. 6. Press the Right Arrow button twice. The Semi-full reset displays on the control panel. 7. Press OK. 8. The printer display will go blank. Press the ON button and the reset will complete. 9. Select your language, wait for the printer to align cartridges, and print a test page. Please try again later. Please try again later. K. Jones 5.0 out of 5 stars I had to replace my old printer, which was also and HP, and junk, with this printer. Installation was a breeze. Less than 2 minutes for it to be set up. Didn't even have issues setting up the Wireless. The print quality is so much more than I would have ever expected. I printed off a picture that I had sent out to Kodak to have printed and I would have to say the print quality is 100% better than what I got back from Kodak. Printing on the cd's is extremely easy. I just wish I could print an entire picture instead of having special sections where the pictures would go. I would have to say that is the only downfall of the entire printer. The copy and scanning features are incredible. If you need a new printer or just want to upgrade, I highly recommend this one. It is definately the best value for your money. Please try again later. Please try again later. Ohma 3.0 out of 5 stars A little slower than my previous one, though.

Howver, the real issue I had was that the cartridges were missing from the box when I received it and I had to leave in the middle of the installation process to purchase new ones. I contacted HP and to date, ten days later, I had not gotten them to resolve this issue. Trying to call them is a nightmare.you speak to someone on the other side of the world! Please try again later. Please try again later. stefan 5.0 out of 5 stars Only complaint is it uses up a lot of ink. Went through 3 printers from the store and all gave me a hard. I guess I will just buy this again, I hope it'll last another 10 years. Please try again later. Please try again later. I was able to resolve this with this solution. You got a cartridge that has a bad chip in it.With noting otherwise wrong with my 7500A wide format, there is no way to update the firmware given the display malfunction, therefore the printer must be replaced. HP offers though free shipping on a new printer and free return of the damaged printer implying they will fix the returned printed and sell it again as reconditioned. Perhaps I will sell it to someone else instead? It's too much of a coincidence that after 4-5 years a simple WIFI signal could damage the machine but elsewhere others are suggesting the same.Try for align. The paper or the the paper tray is inserted properly. Turn off the printer and turn it back on after 10sec.Please get back to us if this information helps you solve the problem.Where should I attach it? Hope you found it useful, for any futher question i'm here:)You can try looking into an OCR program that will read the text in the image and turn it into an editable text file which should then open in notepad. The old driver for that printer used to come with OCR ability but it is not available on the new software version HP has on their support site. You can try searching for version 11 of the driver but you may not be able to find it and make it work.

When you run the software it will pop-up a menu of options. On that menu is an install for the additional software. This will reinstall the hp solution center.Answer questions, earn points and help others.
